Haori Kimono

A haori kimono is a kimono with a jacket. The haori is a thigh-length jacket which adds a formal look to the outfit. In the beginning, haori were worn only by men.

They are now worn by both men and women, young and old, though the women`s haori are slightly longer. Haori-himo is a tasseled, woven string fastener for the haori. The most formal color is white for both men and women.
